Roberta Goodman dolphin swim guide bahamas florida bimini

From Trip Advisor: “Swimming with dolphins was one of my top bucket list Must Do’s. I chose Roberta Goodman’s Wild Dolphn Swims based on local recommendations and reviews I read on Trip Advisor. My family of four and mother were the only participants on the boat … and were personally treated to amazing encounters with several pods of spinner dolphins … . Roberta and her crew were professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeability about these dolphins, their behaviors and habitat. …They were very patient with my 87 year old mother and with the special needs of my husband. We were very nervous at first, but soon picked up the routine and enjoyed the view and action under water! We could not get enough of this experience! These dolphins were mating, playing, spinning, swimming down then breaching above us! We saw pregnant dolphins as well as a bottlenose dolphin. We had dolphins swimming all around us and were so close, we almost could touch them. … The water, sky and boat were perfect for this tour. … Roberta did an awesome job of capturing our swims both in photos and videos, which she sent to us to use. If you want to swim with dolphins without being with a lot of other people on the same boat, then Wild Dolphin Swims with Roberta Goodman is the tour for you. Five stars and thank you Roberta!”

From Trip Advisor: “My husband and I first met Roberta Goodman back in March 2014. She is extremely kind and pays great respect to the dolphins and their environment. It makes all the difference when your swim guide is this dedicated to the dolphins and the ocean, and I honestly believe the dolphins feel this kind of love and kindness from a human being like Roberta. We most recently swam with her last week and again had a breathtaking experience of dolphins (there seemed to be almost a hundred) just swimming freely with their babies and coming close to us at times to curiously check us out. In the water, you can hear them talking to each other, playing, and enjoying life in such a pure way. It’s a gift to be able to share the water with them and just observe them (and at times observe them observing us!). If you do one water activity … I would go with Roberta Goodman every time. Her groups are very small, and the beauty of what you will experience is hard to put into words. Roberta also will use her GoPro and capture special moments for you which you would otherwise not be able to get with your own GoPro because of the different angles and directions of the ocean. For example, I had my own, however saw her footage later and was truly amazed at how many dolphins were behind and around me.”

From Trip Advisor: “After reading a lot of reviews, and looking at whale and dolphin tour websites, I decided to choose Roberta Goodman and I’m so glad that I did. We had a small group of four people and I decided to purchase the additional tickets to buy out our tour in order to make it a private trip. I highly recommend that you consider doing a private tour so that Roberta can tailor the trip to your needs. Two of the people in our group had never snorkeled before. Roberta was very accommodating and assisted the novices as needed. They were encouraging and patient. On the day we were out, we were very fortunate to have a lot of spinner dolphins in the area. We were able to view pods of families, some with babies. We witnessed them jumping and spinning out of the water, diving and playing. The views of the dolphins were great. We were able to view them in close proximity, and listen to them. If you are interested in swimming with wild dolphins, I would highly recommend this tour. … extremely professional, highly experienced, and fun.”

From Trip Advisor: “Swimming with Roberta and the Wild Dolphins was absolutely amazing. She and her crew are FIRST CLASS and took excellent care of us making sure we all were safe, comfortable and in the middle of hundreds of Spinner Dolphins. Great for all ages and skill levels, personalized attention and super safe.”

Your Itinerary

6 Night Snorkeling with Wild Dolphins Boutique Cruise to Bimini.

The Dream Team offers the best wild dolphin encounters in the world. Our participants say . . . “There is no competition!”

This boutique cruise safely remains on the dolphin banks 24 hours a day, finding dolphins while other boats are at the dock. Crew members expertly scan the seas for our dolphin friends, perched in a lookout 3 stories high. Guests enjoy shade and a view from the upper deck seating.

We must stress that all our dolphin swimming are with wild dolphin, therefore we cannot predict specific times or length of swim with dolphin encounters. These details are left entirely to the dolphins. However here is a rough guide to a typical week.

The Dolphin Dream departs from West Palm Beach Florida and travels to Bimini Bahamas. The nearest airport is Palm Beach International (PBI), about 20 minutes from the boat. The biggest airport is Miami (MIA), about 2 hours from boat.  Boarding time is 3pm to 7pm on the departure day, and the boat departs for the Bahamas at 10pm. On our return date, disembarkation is around 10:30am.

Day 1)
Saturday, board the vessel “Dolphin Dream” between 3.00pm-7.00pm. Time to unpack, and familiarize yourself with your floating home for the week. Dinner will be served onboard, then an orientation will be given on emergency procedures and information to ensure you get the fullest enjoyment from your adventure. We depart Palm Beach late Saturday evening for our overnight cruise to ‘The Bahama Islands’.

Day 2)
Wake up to breakfast in the beautiful Bahamas. As soon as Bahamas customs and immigration open at 9.00am your captain will get the paperwork completed. Soon after, we are on our way. This morning we south toward Great Issac and Bimini islands, where the our friendly family of wild Dolphins live. In the afternoon, be ready to snorkel, if we come across playful spotted or bottlenose dolphin at anytime. The snorkeling encounter length is entirely up to the dolphins. Encounters have been known to last from a few minutes to several hours.

The water depth here is between 25-35 ft (8-11 m). The water temperature ranges from mid to high 80’s (27c) in summer.. The water is mostly crystal clear with a white sandy bottom. From the deck, the scenic stripes of turquoise sapphire and azure blue meander across the surface of the ocean. This phenomenal setting adds to the magic of the amazing dolphin encounters. In the evening, we anchor up in a calm safe area for dinner and overnight. Stargazing is another wonderful pastime to enjoy during your nights onboard.

Day 3) +4) +5)
We start our days with breakfast around 8 am. We essentially spent the night in the dolphin grounds but we have to drive and look around for the exact location of the Dolphins. As yesterday, we will swim with the dolphins when they come to play. We usually find a pod of dolphins around 10 am. Some days we find them immediately and other days we have to look longer. We usually swim with them till around noon or 1 pm, then take a lunch break.

The Spotted Dolphins are nocturnal and go in to a rest period in the afternoon, at this time we leave them alone to rest. During the dolphin encounter breaks, you can relax and conserve energy for the next encounter: listen to music, make new friends, sunbath, read, swim, snorkel and scuba dive on a shallow reef. We look for dolphins again in the afternoon and evening when they are waking back up for their nighttime feeding. Often we will swim with them untill sunset and if we’re lucky, we may experience a night dolphin encounter, a magical occurrence …The stuff of dreams.

Day 6)
This day goes like the previous days with dolphin snorkeling encounter and fun in the sun! The evening around 6 pm we must depart the dolphin grounds and make our way back to Florida.

Day 7)
Morning arrival into West Palm Beach Florida, Breakfast will be served this morning as we get ready to clear US Customs. After clearing US Customs return back to our home at the marina for your disembarkation, around 10-11.00 am.

We depart from Florida USA, and thereby include transportation to and from The Bahamas – which means for you no extra costs and hassle on small plane flights, with booking logistics and baggage restrictions.

OPTIONAL: SCUBA diving at a reef is an optional activity for those with certification cards. A stop at the underwater attraction Road to Atlantis/Bimini Roads is possible.
